meaning

the world is a weird place, im not sure a whole lot of it makes sense; people are weirder. Seriously, what does it matter if we understand how large the universe is, or how the ancient Egyptians wrote, or what the probability of where a specific electron is located? where does that take us in life? I suppose it puts food on the table for most people, but why? why is that significant to us?

As far as technology has taken us forward, society seems to regress back to ignorance. In the last several years the world has only become more polarized. We've broken communication barriers across the world, and created walls of misunderstanding in their place. I suppose it's been worse before my times. so more accurately, we haven't changed much, despite the technological advances. We're still humans in the end. c

immigration vs outsourcing

I was listening to 90.1 today, and I heard a piece against big corporations outsourcing jobs overseas, and taking away jobs from the average american. Isn't that part of the fear the conservatives express about letting in immigrants? how they're coming in and taking our jobs away. Its odd, the "conservatives" are pro outsourcing, anti immigration. and the "liberals" are pro-immigration anti-outsourcing. It's an interesting world...

Ramadan thoughts

a few thoughts on working while fasting:

- working makes the day feel so long, I started getting hungry and it was only 10:30am

- no more walking to the coffee room to stretch.... I guess I could walk there and just look at the water cooler.

- breaking the habit of reaching for my mug to sip on some water. I washed and wiped my cup dry, then put it as far out of reach from me as possible, yet I still found myself reaching to where I usually have it.

mann this simulation is done, but its taking forever to generate this output file....its been 30 minutes now. and the file is now 40mb and growing.

* 5 hours and 350mb later: still running....and now i close it. Lets try running it somewhere else

directions, please?

In the past, on my old blog, I used to be extremely politically charged, bash bush, and comment on everything political going on. I noticed lately, I might get irritated by certain things in politics, or have a strong opinion about something, but seeing whats going on doesn't get me riled up anymore. I'm more callous about politics now. Its not worth my energy complaining about things I cant control, and in all honesty, probably don't know enough about anyways.

I suppose that creates a new problem, What shall I write about? any suggestions? maybe I shouldn't write at all...

I think the next few posts might be lame like this, in search of direction, or figuring out what I can channel out of my head into words.
